Dr. Chauhan, a Consultant Geriatrician and Acute & General
Medicine Physician, practices at the Royal Free Hospital in his
NHS capacity. Specializing in the care of older adults with
multiple chronic long-term conditions, he possesses expertise in
managing cognitive disorders, osteoporosis, falls, and
optimizing patients' medical conditions before invasive procedures
or surgery.
His approach encompasses comprehensive and holistic
assessments, prioritizing patient-centered care. Dr. Chauhan is
recognized for his exceptional communication skills and the
strong rapport he cultivates with his patients.
Having earned a BSc in Physiology from King’s College London
in 2011 and an MBChB from the University of Leicester in 2013,
Dr. Chauhan pursued postgraduate medical training across
various London Teaching Hospitals, including St Mary’s,
Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Northwick Park, and St George’s
Hospitals.
In 2016, Dr. Chauhan obtained his MRCP(UK) and completed
his Specialty Certificate Examination in 2018, becoming dual
accredited in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine.
In addition to his clinical pursuits, Dr. Chauhan completed a Post
Graduate Certificate in Medical Education at the University of
Cardiff in 2014, earning recognition for his teaching contributions
from the South Thames Foundation School. He remains actively
involved in undergraduate medical education with the UCL
Medical School.
During 2018-19, Dr. Chauhan served as a Clinical Fellow for the
National Medical Director of NHS England, supporting the
implementation of various national policies, including the NHS
Long-Term Plan (2019), Clinical Review of Standards, and the
Evidence-Based Interventions Programme. He subsequently
earned an MBA with a Healthcare Specialism from Warwick
Business School.
Appointed as a Consultant Physician at the Royal Free Hospital
in 2023, Dr. Chauhan assumes the role of Clinical Lead for
Frailty. He attends to patients in Accident and Emergency as
well as the Acute Assessment Unit upon their initial hospital
presentation.
