After studying medicine at University College London, Dean spent his training in general and geriatric medicine at Hillingdon, West Middlesex, Charing Cross, Hammersmith and Royal Free Hospitals. Dean was appointed consultant at The Royal Free in 2009. He has a special interest in orthogeriatrics and the management of delirium and frailty. As well as managing acute elderly in-patients, he now leads a multi-disciplinary team in the management of older orthopaedic patients with a special emphasis on the care of patients with fractured neck of femur.
Dean has also completed the Certificate of Medical Education at the Royal College of Physicians and University College London and has a special interest multi-disciplinary teaching and e-learning
