Each Team is led by a different Team Leader whose aim it is to improve the way that Primary Care services are delivered across areas north of the River Thames East and West Hertfordshire and soon to be Bucks and Oxfordshire through combining education with specifically tailored ‘lunch and learn’ meetings. These meetings focus on educating GPs on new and emerging drugs, bringing colleagues together to learn about developments in all areas of health.
Local NHS Consultants within the various areas of health being discussed, are the guest speakers whilst Essentially Medical acts as the Secretariat between the Consultant, the GP Practice and the Industry Partner who sponsor the meeting.
Our aim is to make a difference to the way that care is provided by ensuring that GPs have access to the most up-to-date and relevant information on new drugs and procedures through the sessions that we run.
With major cutbacks in the NHS, e.g. having to provide for an ageing population, there is an ever growing importance for service improvement, innovation and collaborative working which spans across our entire healthcare system. However a joint, cross organisational approach to achieving such a vision is essential. The launch of the Department of Health’s Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) agenda is an example of current policy aimed at achieving this vision and Essentially Medical feel believe that all of the work we carry out aligns to current and relevant healthcare policy.
