Mr. Hannan started pursuing a career in ENT after being awarded the Negus-Cawthorne Prize in Otorhinolaryngology as a medical student at King’s College London. His postgraduate training was within the London Deanery, rotating through centres of clinical and teaching excellence, finishing at the Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital. Here he remained to be ultimately appointed as a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist - Head & Neck Surgeon in 2009.
Mr. Hannan currently delivers a full general elective and emergency ENT service for adults and children, and collaborates to provide and expand subspecialised Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery. His service is centralised at RNTNEH and University College Hospital, and extends to Royal Free and Edgware Community Hospitals. As Mr. Hannan’s NHS base is firmly established in North Central and North West London, he also seeks to excel in offering a first class ENT service to patients in the local private sector.
Mr. Hannan enjoys dedicated roles in teaching and training, not limited to his students, trainees and fellow specialists, but also including GPs in both formal and informal settings. Indeed, Mr. Hannan is a faculty member of the biannual “Otolaryngology (ENT) for GPs” Course at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, regularly contributes to academic programmes of the Royal Free & Bloomsbury GP VTS and Edgware’s “GP Luncheon Club”, is increasingly involved with BMJ Masterclasses, and would be delighted to engage further via Essentially Medical.
