Mr Abir Bhattacharyya is an established Consultant ENT Surgeon with
over 20 years’ experience in NHS and private practice in central and
northeast London. He has a specialist ENT practice in the independent
sector with a wide referral base and treats ear, nose and throat
conditions in adults and children.
Mr Bhattacharyya specialises in treating otological (ear) conditions for
both adults and children and deals with referrals from other ENT
consultants for the management of complex otological (ear) diseases.
This includes assessment and treatment including surgical management
of hearing loss,
He leads a tertiary referral multidisciplinary voice clinic with speech
therapists for the management of voice disorders. He has a special
interest in treating conditions affecting the nose and sinuses and has
extensive experience in surgical management of sinus disease.
Mr Bhattacharyya has a pivotal role in educational leadership as
Training Programme Director and Deputy Director for Medical
Education. As a clinical academic he has published extensively, written
a textbook for GPs (BMA Book of the Year Award) and edited
international postgraduate textbooks. He is a faculty member, invited
guest speaker and course tutor/ organiser for postgraduate courses in
otolaryngology in UK and abroad. He examines for the Royal College of
Surgeons and is an Intercollegiate Board examiner for FRCS.
As a senior consultant, he has set very high standards of care delivered
with compassion, tailored individually and with clear explanations.
