Saurabh Jain is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and holds an honorary appointment at the University College London Hospital, both large teaching hospitals in central London.
He has special expertise in all aspects of paediatric ophthalmology, squints, general ophthalmology and cataract surgery.
He started his ophthalmology career at Kings College Hospital , London and has undergone specialist training at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
He is involved in running a busy full time clinical service at the Royal Free, Whittington, Barnet General and Edgware hospitals which includes clinical work, training junior surgeons and allied clinical professionals, research and educational activities.
He is a member of the American Association of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and the International Strabismological Association . He is a member of the Skills faculty at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and regularly teaches trainee surgeons on the Microsurgical skills course
