Mr Jonathan Larholt is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon who has been working within the NHS since 1997. He commenced his podiatric surgical training in 2000 at West Middlesex University Hospital and was awarded his Fellowship to the College of Podiatric Surgery (FCPodS) in 2006. He then began his registrar training and worked towards obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training and this was awarded in 2011. During his registrar training he was attached to two hospitals trained at two hospitals, Ilkestone Community Hospital (Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust 2007-2008) and the Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Kent (Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust 2008-2016). Throughout his Registrar training, in Kent, and up to obtaining his first consultancy position in 2014 he was mentored by both podiatric and orthopaedic consultants. This has provided him with invaluable knowledge and the skills to manage a range of foot and ankle pathology.
Mr Larholt holds two NHS Consultancy positions; Sutton Community Services and Central London Community Healthcare (Charing Cross & Edgware Hospital). He has undertaken additional training in minimally invasive surgery and utilises modern investigations and surgical techniques to provide consistent outcomes and quicker recoveries, thereby allowing for a faster return to both social and work activities. He firmly believes in working with the patient to provide information and options about their treatment, both non-surgical and surgical, this allows the patient to play key role in their treatment.
He has a special interest in forefoot reconstructive surgery including bunions and arthritic big toe joints as well as tendon pathology including the Achilles tendon and tibilalis posterior tendon dysfunction (Adult Acquired Flat Foot Deformity).
Mr Larholt takes an active role in the education of surgical trainees as well as podiatrists, physiotherapists and GPs. He has published and regularly presents both locally and nationally.
