Since being appointed as a Consultant almost 7 years ago, I have contributed to the General Urology workload, but have also had the opportunity to develop particular interests and expertise in certain areas within Urology.
Within the Department I look after patients with Renal Malignancy and work closely with our Oncology colleagues to provide care to a rapidly evolving area.
I was one of the first Urologists in the UK to start performing Laparoscopic Renal Surgery and have also spent time in the USA learning new techniques for minimally invasive approaches to renal tumours.
I also have an interest in Renal Stone disease and offer all forms of surgical intervention as well as a specialist clinic for the treatment and prevention of renal stones. We are fortunate within our Trust to have one of the few fixed site Lithotripters and as such deal with a significant number of referrals outside of the area. Male Subfertility is also one of my interests in addition to seeing patients with benign and malignant prostate disease and other general Urological conditions.
Outside of work I have a young family who I like to spend as much time with as I can. I am a keen cyclist and whenever permitting a round of golf is always welcome.
