Mr Jenkinson is a consultant gastrointestinal surgeon with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery.
He is the clinical lead at the Centre for Laparoscopic Surgery, Homerton University Hospital, East London and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Royal London Hospital.
Having qualified at Southampton Medical School he completed his surgical training in London, including experience at the Hammersmith Hospital, St Bartholomew's Hospital and The Royal London Hospital.
During the final part of his training he worked with Professor Motson and Donald Menzies in the Department of Laparoscopic Surgery at Colchester General Hospital.
Mr Jenkinson's academic research culminated in a Master of Surgery thesis on the effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery and the treatment of gut motility problems. More recently he has completed research into laparoscopic hernia repair and surgical nutrition.
