Dr Hayee is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician at King's College Hospital. He trained at GKT Medical School, graduating in 1999, and was awarded MRCP in 2002. His PhD thesis, awarded in 2010, examined the role of innate immunity and neutrophil function in Crohn's disease.
He is nationally-accredited for bowel cancer screening colonoscopy and has specialist interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and advanced endoscopy. He is training lead for Endoscopy at King's and leads development of the specialist IBD service, emphasising a patient-centred approach. In late 2011, he undertook a fellowship to Yokohama, Japan to study advanced endoscopic techniques with Professors Haruhiro Inoue and Shin-ei Kudo. He has co-authored SE London regional guidance for IBD, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and chronic constipation with Lambeth, Southwark and Greenwich CCGs.
Dr Hayee is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation and the European Society for Gastrointenstinal Endoscopy.
